More Information
Mark Zilis (Hostapedia) says that if one were limited to one blue hosta by law ‘Halcyon’ should be the one. We agree with him. It is sun tolerant, is one of the last to die down, and when it does, the leaves turn reddish gold before falling, prolonging the display a little longer. Although not registered until 1998, Halcyon was developed by Eric Smith in 1961, by crossing H. tardiflora with H. sieboldiana ‘Elegans’.
